  • What is house call grooming?

House call grooming is a type of mobile grooming, where the groomer will come to you and groom your dog inside your home! A great option for dogs with anxiety and high-stress, or dogs that get too distracted in a typical busy grooming environment.

  • How do we get started?

Every house call groomer will vary in how they do things. First if you would like, I can do a (free) consultation where I meet you and your dog in your home. We will talk about what you would like for the haircut, what I am able to provide, any health or behavioral issues your dog has, pricing, and whatever questions you may have.

This also helps your dog become comfortable with me in their space, instead of jumping right into grooming with a stranger. I am able to get a good look at the condition of your dog's skin and coat, and determine what kind of shampoo and conditioner they will need.

If we're both feeling good about everything we can go ahead and schedule!

If you would rather skip an in-person consultation, I would love a picture of your pet in their current condition and details about where you would like me to work in your home.

You may or may not be able to watch the entire time I work on your dog, though this is entirely up to how your dog behaves with and without you present. Unless the stars align, it's probably not going to happen!

I use positive reinforcement and love to give treats! I have some or you can provide your own.

I clean as I go, but you may have to do some minor clean up after depending on situations like if your dog is shedding.

  • Do I need to provide anything?
  • A deep sink big enough for your dog, or a bathtub

  • A hard floor for my grooming table

  • A hair trap for your sink or bathtub

  • Proof of up to date rabies vaccination

  • That's it! I provide everything else!

  • Do you provide deshedding services?

Grooming/deshedding a dog is a messier process. If your dog is shedding/a shedding breed, please keep this in mind. A hair trap for your sink or bathtub is needed. I will also have to blow dry your dog in an area you will not mind hair flying. Outside or a garage with the door open are some ideal places for this. A shorter haired shedding dog like a pug or chihuahua will make most of the mess in the bath, where a longer coated dog like a pomeranian will probably send hair flying during the blow dry.

  • How long will it take?

I like to take my time and get cozy with your dog, from the bath to the finishing touches. It ultimately depends on your dog and the kind of haircut you're getting. I will be able to give you a time estimate upon consultation.
